Join us for an afternoon of local makers and heritage interactions.

Ring in fall!

Historic Stewart Farm and Totest Aleng: Indigenous Learning House welcome you to celebrate the harvest season with us! Find artisan vendors, seasonal food, carnival games, live entertainment, heritage demonstrations, harvest photo ops and a musician’s corner (bring your own instrument!). 

Performers

Jarred Genaille, Hoop Dancer
A Cree, Salteaux and Anishnabe with ancestral roots originating from Misipawistik Cree Nation, Lake St. Martin First Nation, and Cowessess First Nation, Jarred is a professional Hoop Dancer and Speaker and was taught and mentored by a three time world champion hoop dancer.   

The Re-enactors
See the award-winning heritage re-enactment performance troupe share stories of real people from Surrey’s past.

Lyric Tsuji, Louis Riel Métis Dancer
With Métis Cree ancestors  from Saint Boniface Manitoba, Lyric began dancing at the age of 4. She has been dancing with V’ni Dansi, a Métis dance company, for eight years and is very passionate about sharing Michif culture through dance.

Inside the Totest Aleng Studio

Learn how to weave a beautiful cedar rose from Semiahmoo First Nation Artist Joan Williams. The free ten person workshop will run at 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm. All ages. Registration is first come first serve at the information table.
